Terms
Terms of Service
These terms govern access to CompliantIEP and set the boundaries for responsible use of its educator-facing tools.
Effective August 2, 2026
1. Acceptance and eligibility
By creating an account or using CompliantIEP, you agree to these terms and the Privacy Policy. You must be at least 18 and able to enter a binding agreement. The service is designed for education professionals and is not offered for students or children to use directly.
2. Professional and institutional authority
You may submit education records only when you are authorized to do so and your use is permitted by your school, district, employer, applicable agreements, and law. You are responsible for following local approval, consent, disclosure, records-management, and security requirements. Use only the student information needed for the task.
3. Accounts
You are responsible for your account, the security of your sign-in methods, and activity performed through the account. Do not share access, impersonate another person, or allow students to use your account. Notify us promptly if you suspect unauthorized access.
4. AI-assisted output and educator review
CompliantIEP provides drafting and organizational assistance. It does not provide legal advice, special education eligibility decisions, clinical advice, or a substitute for an IEP team. AI output can be incomplete, outdated, or incorrect. You must review the source material, citations, state requirements, calculations, dates, and student-specific language before using or sharing any output. You remain responsible for final professional decisions and records.
5. Acceptable use
You may not:
- use the service without authority to process the submitted information;
- access another user's account or data, probe security controls, or evade usage limits;
- upload malware, unlawful material, or content that infringes another person's rights;
- resell, reverse engineer, scrape, or automate the service in a way that harms its operation;
- use output as an automatic final decision about a student or represent it as legal advice; or
- use the service for advertising profiles, surveillance, discrimination, or unrelated commercial use of student data.
6. Your content
You retain rights in content you submit. You grant CompliantIEP and its service providers a limited right to host, process, transmit, reproduce, and create requested output from that content only as needed to provide, secure, maintain, and support the service or comply with law. You represent that you have the rights and authority necessary to provide the content.
7. Subscription, trial, and cancellation
The Solo Teacher plan includes a 14-day trial and then renews at $7.99 per month unless canceled before the trial ends. Stripe processes payment information. You authorize recurring charges and are responsible for taxes where applicable. You can cancel through the billing portal; cancellation normally takes effect at the end of the current billing period. Fees already charged are non-refundable except where required by law or expressly stated otherwise.
8. Service changes and availability
We may improve, limit, suspend, or discontinue features and may set reasonable usage or file-size limits. We aim for reliable service but do not promise uninterrupted availability. We may suspend access to protect users, investigate abuse, comply with law, or address nonpayment.
9. Intellectual property
CompliantIEP's software, interface, branding, and original site content are protected by intellectual property laws. These terms provide a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use the service during your subscription; they do not transfer ownership of the service.
10. Disclaimers and liability
To the extent permitted by law, the service is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of accuracy, fitness for a particular purpose, or legal compliance. CompliantIEP is not responsible for a user's professional decisions, unauthorized submissions, district-policy violations, or reliance on unreviewed output. Liability that cannot legally be excluded remains subject to applicable law.
11. Termination
You may stop using the service at any time. We may suspend or terminate access for material breach, security risk, unlawful conduct, or nonpayment. Provisions that by their nature should survive termination—including ownership, payment obligations, disclaimers, and liability limitations—will survive.
12. Changes and contact
We may update these terms and will post the revised effective date. Material changes will receive additional notice when required. Questions may be sent to support@compliantiep.com.
